Hi there! My name is Katie Trojak and I'm an American 1st year student studying History and International Relations at King's College London. There was so much I didn't understand when going through the process of applying, getting accepted, and ultimately coming over here and there's been so much that I've learned because of that.
Instead of having you go through the same hours of stress and research that I did, my hope is that you'll be able to find everything you need right here on this blog.
My articles will be mostly about universities in London specifically, but I'll try and do my research to include universities from across the UK. Also, just know that my experiences will be tied to King's specifically just because that's the only Uni that I've ever been to!
My hope is to be completely transparent with you all, sharing about the application process, showing the hardships in the system while coming over, and everything I'm going through now that I'm here. I ended up going to school in the UK in a very backwards way, but so far it's been one of the best decisions of my life!
Outside of this blog, I love music deeply and consider myself a songwriter and performer, having performed at festivals and venues back home in Philadelphia. Travel is a huge motivator in my life, and it's my hope to do loads of it while over here since so many places are very close and only a cheap flight away. So expect articles on that as well! I also love reading and writing, mainly young adult fiction. I'm a huge theater nerd and nerd in general, enjoy crocheting when I have time, love starting and helping with charity projects, and am pretty Catholic.
If you have any personal questions or if there are things you think I don't cover on this blog, please just drop me an email on the contact page! I'd love to hear from you and would be happy to answer any questions you might have or even set up a video call with you.
Here are some articles to get you started on learning about studying in the UK, but I'd also suggest searching in the search box if you have any specific answers you're looking for and also just perusing the entire blog for general info!
